COVID Update
September 23, 2020
Dear Concordia R-II Students, Staff, and Parents:
The Concordia R-II School District has been informed by the Lafayette County Health Department that a member of the elementary school community has tested positive for COVID-19. That individual is in quarantine at home. Those determined as a close contact have already been notified by the district and/or the Lafayette County Health Department and were informed to quarantine as well. We also learned earlier this evening that a high school member tested positive. That individual is also quarantining at home and those determined as a close contact are being contacted by the district this evening to inform them they need to quarantine and the LCHD will contact them tomorrow to let them know the length of the quarantine and answer any questions.
Please understand that due to FERPA ,FMLA, and ADA regulations, the District cannot identify these individuals or define characteristics that would lead to a public identification. The school district strongly recommends that all students, their family members, and Concordia R-II employees monitor for CDC-defined symptoms of COVID-19, including, but not limited to:
∙ Fever or chills;
∙ Cough;
∙ Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing;
∙ Fatigue;
∙ Muscle or body aches;
∙ Congestion or runny nose;
∙ Headache;
∙ Sore throat;
∙ Newly emerged loss of taste or smell;
∙ Diarrhea
If symptoms develop, you are advised to stay home and to consult your healthcare provider.
Please understand that the health and safety of the district’s students, families, and employees will always remain a top priority of the district. All are asked to continue to wash your hands, wear a mask when unable to social distance, and to stay home when you do not feel well. The district will continue to work with the Lafayette County Health Department to ensure best protocols are being followed to provide a healthy environment for all.
Sincerely,
Brent Cooper, Superintendent
