Concordia R-2 Mission/Vision
Concordia R-2 Mission Statement
The mission of the Concordia R-2 School District is to help all students develop their unique talents as well as the critical thinking, technological and lifelong learning skills needed in order to become productive, responsible citizens in a global community.
Concordia R-2 Vision Statements
As a part of the district Missouri School Improvement Plan, the board adopted a vision statement. The purpose of a vision statement is to instill a sense of direction. It predicts a realistic, credible and attractive change process.
During the process of developing a vision we sought input from parents, patrons and staff. The next step in the process will be outlining what we plan to do to work toward our vision. Many of the activities can already be found in our CSIP Plan, others we will need to develop. We appreciate the open and honest comments we received in this process.
In Concordia, we envision a school district where:
- Students, staff administrators and parents communicate effectively and work collaboratively to create educational activities which challenge the students’ creativity and maximize their abilities;
- Students will learn the critical thinking skills they need to make positive civic and personal choices;
- There is an environment of mutual respect where students are involved in experiences that develop their understanding of diversity and cultural differences;
- Everyone takes responsibility for his or her own actions, creating an environment that is a supportive and safe place to learn.
