Cooper Will Replace Scherer As District Leader

Mary Beth Scherer, Concordia R-2 Superintendent since 2000-2001 will retire at the end of her current contract. She will be succeeded by Mr. Brent Cooper. Cooper has been with the District for 17 years serving as A+ Program Coordinator, Athletic Director, Math teacher, Safety Coordinator, Buildings and Grounds Coordinator, basketball and baseball coach. His duties will officially begin on July 1, 2017. Mr. Cooper and his wife Kathy live in Concordia and have three children, two who attend CHS and one at Mizzou. Mr. Cooper holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics degree from Westminster College, a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Williams Woods University, a Master of Science and Secondary School Administration from the University of Central Missouri, a Master of  Athletic Administration degree from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association, and a Specialist degree in School Superintendency from the University of Central Missouri.  Cooper was hired by the Concordia R-2 Board of Education at the November meeting.
