2015 MAP Testing Information

Each year, students in grades five through eight take the Missouri Assessment Program test or the MAP test. The MAP test has undergone a dramatic change beginning this year. For the first time, the test will be administered online or through our computer network. Students will complete the entire test using a desktop computer or a laptop computer.

Gone are the days of paper and pencil tests. Students will have a wide array of tools at their disposal when taking the tests. They will have highlighters, sticky notes, flags, countdown timers, calculators (where allowed), help functions, and a voice that will read to them.  Like the old test, there are basically three types of questions:  Selected –response items (multiple choice), constructed response items, and performance events. Everyone will have the selected and constructed response items but only the fifth and eight grades will have the performance event. All students will take Math and English Language Arts tests. Fifth and eighth graders will take an additional Science test.

Parents are encouraged to visit the testing website and see what the tests will be like. There are a number of tutorial videos available publicly. Browse to https://mo.drcedirect.com/ , click Test Setup and General Information. You will find Test Tutorial Information. Parents are further encouraged to go through the information with their student.
