Study Skills
Daily Grading:
Depending on your performance you can earn 5 points total on the following tasks each day.
- Work Completion-Be working on homework the whole class period, or have all work finished in all subjects. (1)
- Materials to Class-Bring books for all subjects that you need to work on to class, paper and writing utensils. (1)
- On Task Without Prompts-Stay focused and on task. (1)
- Follow Directions/Respect- If any behavior problems occur during class, then you will not receive a point for that class period. Also if the student doesn’t follow the directions by the teacher or classroom rules, they will also not receive a point for that class period. (1)
- Planner-You will receive 1 point each day for having your planner filled out completely when you come into the room or during the first part of class. You will receive a 0 if you don’t have it filled out or you don’t have it.
- These points will be awarded daily according to how well you conduct yourself in class.
- Keep yourself busy. If you don’t have anything to do, ask the teacher for something to do or bring something appropriate to work on.
Classroom Procedures:
When bell rings QUIET, I will take roll, and then I will check planners. Then the class will start working on Homework, the student will start working with the next class and work in order to the last class for example if its fourth hour the student will start getting work done for first hour for the next day and finish with third hour for the class they had just before Study Skills class, don’t start on a different class until the class that your working on is done. Any core classes take priority over non-core classes.
On the below lines I would like the student and a parent to sign this and return it to Mr. Lovercamp so I know the student and parent understand how they will be graded during Study Skills Class.
